The Business School is strongly committed to enhancing the student learning experience through comprehensive assurance of learning procedures embedded within the curriculum.

Each program has broad goals and specific objectives that align with The University of Western Australia (UWA) Educational Principles and the Business School teaching and learning Operational Priorities.

Program Learning Goals

The program learning goals include:

  • discipline specific knowledge and understanding
  • cognitive, technical research skills for lifelong learning
  • oral and written communication skills

Curriculum Maps

Curriculum maps across all programs identify where program objectives are taught, practiced and assessed. These matrices form the basis of our ongoing assurance of learning process which has a focus on improving student learning and ongoing curriculum improvement.

Assurance of Learning

Assurance of Learning program reports indicate student performance on program goals and learning objectives.

While the Deputy Dean and Associate Dean Teaching and Learning take primary responsibility for Assurance of Learning in the Business School, the process also involves the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Program Directors, Discipline Chairs, Program Directors/Coordinators and all teaching staff.

Assurance of Learning involves a process of identifying opportunities to improve student learning where the end goal is continuous improvement in student learning and achievement. Details of the process and guidelines for assurance of learning applicable at the UWA Business School are available below.
