Program Learning Goals

All programs offered at the UWA Business School have broad goals and specific outcomes that align with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), The University of Western Australia (UWA) Educational Principles and the Business School teaching and learning Operational Priorities. The program goals are regularly reviewed to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements and reflect employer and community expectations.

Program learning goals are higher level learning goals that are broad in scope and specify the skills and competencies students will achieve upon completion of the degree program. Through the use of a curriculum mapping process we also articulate how high level program goals lead to individual program learning outcomes and how students learn and develop the required knowledge and skills to meet program learning outcomes. The knowledge and skills acquisition is embedded across the core units in the programs and majors. Students’ progress towards achieving program learning outcomes will be evaluated through various assessment tasks and use of assessment tools.

The school uses an Assurance of Learning (AoL) process to assess how well students meet the various program learning goals. AoL refers to the systematic process of collecting data about student learning outcomes, reviewing and using it to continuously develop and improve the School's degree programs. AoL demonstrates how well our graduates achieve the goals and outcomes we say they will achieve.
