UWA Forward

Vice-Chancellor's Voice

Good morning. I invite you to download the University's 2015 Annual Report which was recently tabled in State Parliament. It features a refreshed, engaging design and vibrant images from around the campus that showcase the University's achievements.

Last week we also welcomed UWA graduate Kim Beazley back to the University after serving as Australia's Ambassador of the United States for six years. He has rejoined the University as an Honorary Fellow in UWA's Law School, and will also take up an honorary appointment as Senior Research Fellow with the Perth USAsia Centre.

Sincerely,
Professor Paul Johnson
Vice-Chancellor

Forward Focus

Attracting the best and brightest from international markets

Carmen Loo has worked for UWA for nearly three years but you wouldn't have seen her grabbing a coffee at Hackett lately. In fact you won't have seen her anywhere in Perth for that matter because she calls Malaysia home, and works out of Kuala Lumpur.

Carmen Loo

Essentially we're offshore business development managers. Every task I perform contributes to increasing UWA brand awareness in the Malaysian and Singaporean markets. My primary objective is converting this brand awareness into student enrolments.

Carmen Loo

This week Carmen's in Perth as part of Pursue UWA Week. This week-long program showcases UWA campuses, courses, student life and the city to international agents and Relationship Managers whose job it is to advise students looking to study abroad.

Read more about Carmen's role and why Pursue UWA Week is such an important recruitment initiative.
