UWA Forward

Vice-Chancellor's Voice

Good morning. As Year 12 students start to make important decisions about their future, next week 60 high-achieving students will visit campus to experience how UWA can help them become tomorrow's leaders. Amongst many things, the group will learn about UWA's new early entry program into engineering and you can read more about this initiative below.

You will be aware that the Extended Executive met last week to review the Renewal work stream proposals. Significant progress was made to refine the proposals and we look forward to sharing this with you at upcoming information sessions starting Thursday 7 July.

Sincerely,
Professor Paul Johnson
Vice-Chancellor

Preserving UWA's past for future generations

Maria Carvalho has been UWA’s Archivist for 11 years and is responsible for the University’s 1.3 linear kilometres of archives. She helps UWA staff and members of the public discover hidden gems of information that may inform their research, contribute to publications and even unlock generations old stories of friends and family.

Maria Carvalho

Without the archives you lose the history and context of your institution. UWA has such a wonderful history that it would be a terrible shame for this not to be preserved and passed on.

Maria Carvalho

In this video Maria talks more about her role and why the University’s archives are so important.
