UWA Forward

Vice-Chancellor's Voice

Good morning. The University has a strong history of community engagement and my vision is for UWA's community footprint to further evolve. One way this is happening is through the McCusker Centre for Citizenship that launched last week. This Centre will create opportunities for our ambitious and talented students to work side by side with community groups and not-for-profit organisations. This will develop critical thinkers and leaders with a lifelong commitment to contributing to the community.

As we head toward Easter, I want to thank you for your hard work in the first quarter of 2016. It was pleasing to see UWA has improved in the annual QS Rankings released yesterday and you can read more about this below.

I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable break with your families and loved ones.

Sincerely,
Professor Paul Johnson
Vice-Chancellor

Donna's bringing social back

Donna Utz wears two hats at UWA. As Executive Assistant to the University's Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), Donna spends her day making sure the office runs smoothly. But as the 'Face of the Social Club', Donna's event manager skills come to the fore as she works hard to organise memorable experiences for UWA staff.

Donna Utz

UWA is a workplace that’s so full of different opportunities that it makes sense to get to know your campus peers. Making these kinds of connections will only add to your employee experience, and the Social Club is a non-intimidating way you can do this.

Donna Utz

Donna's worked at UWA for five years in a variety of roles, and been a member of the Social Club for most of this time. The Club's experienced some difficulty over the years she’s been a member but right now it has a solid membership base and is going from strength to strength.
